SAN FRANCISCO. February,1995.
Bandits struck the SF Modern Art Museum, stealing several priceless
paintings and vandalizing a sculpture by Jeff Koons.
Citing
the MoMA's reluctance to exhibit local artists while receiving
a large percentage of the local arts funding, the theives insist
the robbery was politically motivated performance art, commited
only to attract media attention to their plight.
The
alleged artists also apologized for tipping over the Koons sculpture.
